It’s NOT what I expected…

Due to my work I was looking for a solution that would allow me to watch TV PC Satellite on my laptop when I was away.

I didn’t want to be stuck with TV channels I wasn’t interested in as I am quite a news and sports fanatic and like to watch the occasional movie.

I liked the idea of being able to get Satellite TV on PC. It would be useful at home as I could watch TV PC on computer whilst doing some work or just browsing the internet.

I thought “How hard could it be in this day and age?”
– little did I realize…

So, I fired up Google and did a search, there are literally hundreds of TV PC Satellite products offering their solution as the best! “Great!” I thought – “Let’s download a free one!…” (big mistake)

Yip, the download was free but to use it longer than 3 days AND have access to ALL channels I had to pay a subscription fee. Not only that but the PC TVsoftware often crashed and caused Windows to hang.

Another “Free TV PC Satellite” product I tried installed Adware (Spyware), and every few minutes I got an advertisement popping up. I think it must have had it’s OWN interface for displaying pop-up ads. I already have Internet Explorer 8 with pop-up blocker installed an turned ON.

I was fuming!!”

McAfee Internet Security and $49.99 later I finally managed to uninstall the TV PC software and remove the Adware (I hope). I hear the only way to make 100% sure is to completely re-install Windows!

So I tried another TV PC Satellite product (I paid for this one). The software installed fine and fired up (so far so good).
It communicated online and gave lots of listings. I thought “I’ve done it, this is what I’m looking for!”

Then I actually tried to play the channels… I think the software was out of date or years old.
I’m not sure, but it was running on Windows XP and I also tried it on my Vista laptop so something must have been compatible (or just lucky).

80%+ of the TV PC Satellite channels didn’t work, and the few channels that worked I wasn’t interested in — had very poor quality — and kept buffering every few seconds! This TV PC software wasn’t looking good…

In vain I purchased a couple more TV PC Satellite programs ALL promising a great service — only to be disappointed time after time.
